Peter and Dan Snow
Peter and Dan Snow, were holding an event to promote their new BBC series and Books on 20th Century Battlefields. As i have the luck to work at the place they were doing the event, i got to meet them early on, and they are both very very nice guys, and bloody tall, both are 6'4" i would reckon.
Anyways, onto the talk, it condensed their series into 1 hour of talking and light hearted banter, which was insightful, entertaining and really interesting.
I had the pleasure of Messrs Scarrow as more knowledgeable friends to ask the pointed questions, which keep the Snows talking and imparting new information.
If you ever get the chance to go to a talk both Snows are doing just DO IT! all I can say really.
Really glad I went now, and will keep an eye on future events both Peter and Dan do.
Went for a meal with Simon and Alex afterwards which was entertaining as always..hehe

Aston Martin is British again....well sort of!
Aston Martin, is British again, (with foriegn investment), but the man behind the reigns is Dave Richards, someone who has a history with sportscars et al.
Lots of Dubai money here, but we all know the Dubai money men love fast cars so it canl only be good! and be great advertising when a couple of Sheiks start roaring around their home citys in a DB9
All i can say is wahey! and sit in hope the wife does as she promises and buys me one by the time i'm 40 :)
9 years and counting hun!
I love Astons always have, probably growing up on Bond did that too me, and the fact it's one of the last british cars made by hand. and to put it simply I will have one!.....

drivers.....again!
You'd think a little tolerance would be in order as the volume of traffic on the other routes has increased by at least 30%, but no!
Every person I let through this morning didn't acknowledge that fact, the only person who did say thanks pushed her (yes it was a woman driver) through, and I think she saw my face! (like thunder springs to mind)
What is it about the morning rush hour?
Soon as any driver has to find a different route they turn into a tosser!
The amount of near misses I've seen this morning with drivers pushing in, creeping onto junctions and causing moving traffic to swerve around the nose of his/her car!
grrrrrrr, makes my blood boil! I just wish i had a tank, so i could just drive over the lot of them or shoot the buggers who cut me up!

MotorSport - Wahey
But McLaren could spoil the party, car is fast ,but still unreliable. but the surprise could be BMW, car and drivers are strong, and stable with long runs under their belt, so reliability is there. lets hope the drivers don't screw things up, would be great to get an open season, and by mid season we have several contenders.
But my favourite is BTCC, I should be getting to at least 5 rounds this year, so I will get some great pics, and see some great action! really looking forward to see if Matt Neal can get a record 3rd title, but can those seats do the double this year and the VXR Vectra sounds real fast and stable in S2000 spec. and Fabrizio is already a WTCC champ, so he will be one to watch!
Rumour has it, we will get 25cars or more in round one! thats what all call racing!
Bring it on!!!

'Infomania' worse than marijuana
| Many workers are always on standby to react to incoming messages |
The study for computing firm Hewlett Packard warned of a rise in "infomania", with people becoming addicted to email and text messages.
Researchers found 62% of people checked work messages at home or on holiday.
The firm said new technology can help productivity, but users must learn to switch computers and phones off.
Losing sleep
The study, carried out at the Institute of Psychiatry, found excessive use of technology reduced workers' intelligence.
Those distracted by incoming email and phone calls saw a 10-point fall in their IQ - more than twice that found in studies of the impact of smoking marijuana, said researchers.
More than half of the 1,100 respondents said they always responded to an email "immediately" or as soon as possible, with 21% admitting they would interrupt a meeting to do so.
The University of London psychologist who carried out the study, Dr Glenn Wilson, told the Daily Mail that unchecked infomania could reduce workers' mental sharpness.
Those who are constantly breaking away from tasks to react to email or text messages suffer similar effects on the mind as losing a night's sleep, he said.
------------------------------------
Now you've read the article. Having never smoked Marijuana, I couldn't possibly say what the effects are of it on the brain, but the story did conjure a picture of PotHeads running IT Dept's....hang on a minute, i work in an IT dept.....
I will admit i cannot stay away from email etc, but then again it's my job, but i have trained myself to stay away as much as possible, mostly by reading or some other activity not related to PC. honest guvnor! :-)
